Tiszavárkony is another atmospheric village where the first sight to see is a Folk Art Centre opened in 1988. A display and demonstration of traditional handicrafts (wood carvers, potters, weavers, blacksmiths, carpet makers and embroiderers) also offers involvement for those wishing to learn the basics. The single-nave Roman Catholic church in late Baroque style was built between 1812 and 1817. The Reformed church was built in the same style. A monument to the Hungarian conquest is a national... tovább l heritage site in Tiszavárkony and the village also erected memorials to the victims of the two World Wars. In the periphery of the village we find Domonkos mansion also built in late Baroque style in the 18th century which belongs to the Middle-Tisza Nature Conservation District. The riverbank at Tiszavárkony is exceptionally beautiful, ideal for walking under the huge birches or fishing in the river.
