The Franciscan monastery was built beside Máriagyűd Pilgrim Church from the donation of the congregation and with the financial support of the Batthány family in 1739. After the dissolution of the monastic orders in 1950 it housed a social institution. In 2003 the Pécs Episcopate had it restored and changed it into a pilgrims’ visitor centre under the name of Domus Mariae Pilgrim House.
The dining room, which seats 50, the kitchen and the an in other room
are situated on the ground floor.
17 double rooms. This way we can put up 34 people.
If needed, another group of 10+2 people can be put up in the nearby Episcopal Holiday Home in Harkány.
The total number of lodgings is altogether 58.
Each room is equipped with a wash basin and a shower, while the toilets are at the end of the corridor.
The Pilgrim House is suitable to organize family occassions (weddings, baptisms, wedding anniversaries) as well as conferences and professional trainings
We can also provide a 3-course lunch for transit groups.
For groups of pilgrims we provide board and lodging, organize retreats, conferences, trainings and camps.
