It is a very old settlement; Boleszláv, the bishop of Vác endowed the convent of Lelesz with the village. It is mentioned by the name of Ryche in a document in 1403. According to the documents Sabbatarians lived here in the 18th century, who became converted to the catholic belief during the rule of Queen Maria Theresa. The convent of Lelesz was the landowner almost continuously until the 1930's years. The inhabitants have always been of mixed religion.
