It is a settlement of Arpadian age, which was first mentioned in written form in 1247 as the land of palatine Roland. Until 1392 it was in the possession of the descendants. Gáspár Mágóchy, one of the richest men of the northern part of Hungary was one of the most famous landowners. The wonderful renaissance castle was built by him on the place of the former Gothic building among the marshes of Bodrogköz on a sand-hill for his son. It was the land of Alaghy family, later the ruler endowed the... tovább Sennyei family with the castle, who were the owners of one of the most significant buildings of Budrogköz until 1945.
