The settlement, which was given its present name in 1907, lies in the basin of the river Marcal. Its church, which was built in 1772, in the place of another one of the Arpadian age, is dedicated to the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. There are 5 crosses to be found in the village, all erected by its inhabitants. Besides, a visitor will find a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary with Jesus in Kossuth Street, and the statue of Saint John of Nepomuk on the bank of the brook dividing Nemeskeresztúr... tovább r into two parts. In the year of the Millenium the local government placed a wooden headboard outside the education centre, in addition, a memorial park as well as the park of Saint Stephen, the founder of the Hungarian state were inaugurated. The house of the writer, Bertha Bulcsu’s grandparents stands at the end of the main street, with a memorial marble-plaque on it.
