Being the southernmost settlement of Csepel Island, Makád is surronded by nature ont he three side. As the traveller leaves Szigetbecse, vistas widen, and the landscape gently turns into a plain until the confluence of the two branches of the Danube. Woods, lakes, reeds, meadows, and prime arable lands alternate along the road. The 550-hectar nature reserve consists mainly of reeds and woods.
