The houses are built in line on the street of the more than 200 years old community which becomes wider at the church. The village was first recorded in a charter in 1283 as Poth, but in the 14th century it was divided into two parts. During the 19th century they were built together and then also merged for administrative purposes. The predecessor of the former Patthy Castle was probably built in the early 1600' and it gained its present baroque shape around 1710.
