Kengyel became an independent settlement in 1946. A unique attraction of the place is the windmill at Bagi manor. The mill built in 1850, is a listed building and stands on top of a Cumanian mould near the Bagi manor railway station. The area is important from the point of nature conservation as well because of its genuine, natural flora cover. The Bagi manor mould is a nature conservation site. Bagi manor also boasts a Roman Catholic chapel which can be seen in its full splendour from the... tovább Windmill mould. A memorial column stands in the village park dedicated to the martyrs of the village. The neighbouring Cumanian moulds, now under protection, also belong to the natural values of the village. Erzsébet Park Forest, the remnants of an estate park, lying next to the village are of significant botanical value.
