The Fehértó Cemetery was opened in 1661 and was enlarged in 1831 and then again in 1875. The 1400 square meter protected cemetery garden inside the cemetery was established by the members of the City Protection and Beautification Society. Famous personages in the cemetery include Bortsik Márton, Jászkapitány, Sipor Orbán, founder of the museum, Muhoray András, president of Nádor, the Rev.Gyuka József, Kőszegi Menyhért, the County recorder, as well as family members from former Greek merchants. In the cemetery itself, there is a heart-shaped red marble headstone as well as simple wooden crosses and wrought iron fences around the graves.
