Description
Today the Károlyi House is a cultural institution which offers various children's and youth programs, films, and handicraft programs. It was built by the Károlyi family in 1802 and it was used by the officers of the empire. Because of this they called it „tiszttartó ház” which means officers’ house roughly. The building’s main characteristic is a large tympanon in the middle. It was built in classicist style with windows without any decorations and pleasant proportion order-like facade. In the early years it was used by the church, later by the town. Nowadays it is working as a house of the Catholic Church Congregation.
