As the black marble plate says János András Nagy and his wife had it dug in 1884. Béla Zsigmondy worked on the well (that gives one million liter water per day) for a year. The sandstone pool’s (carved by Béla Séegner) diameter is 6m, in the middle there is a 1.3m tall limestone column, on the top of it there is a smaller and there is a larger bronze plate. The top of the well is similar to a cone. The well dried out inthe 60s. (János András Nagy (1812-1890) exercised an up-to-date farming on his estate and always tried to throve his fortune. He was a member of the town’s municipal committee. He always donated to the hospital, to schools and to the church. For his worthiness a street was named after him. His figure was painted by János Tornyai what can be seen in the tabernacle of the New Reformed Church.
