Accessible: 35 Hejőbába can be founded in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County, in Southern Borsod, 30 km from Miskolc, in the South-East direction, and about 16 km from Tiszaújváros, to the West. The spot must have been very favourable for settling, since according to the data maintained this settlement alreadyexisted in the Árpádian era. The early Hungarians, looking for the place to settle lived here as well. The settlement is mentioned as the property of castle villains who beset the castle land. The prefix Hejő refers to the connection with Hejő, which is a branch of the river Tisza. The settlement was called Baba or Babil in the tenth-list of the pope dated to the year 1300. The settlement got the prefix Hejő in the nineteenth century, which prefix was attached to the posterior in different forms in contemporaneous sources.
