Driving along Main Road 51 towards Budapest, the visitor arrives to Dunavarsány. Recultivated to a high standard, the mining pit lakes just outside the city attract large numbers of people when the summer is hot. An interesting sight in town is the 10-hectare floating sudd near Domariba Island. A protected natural area, it is home to many rare plant varieties, but tourists can also see great crested grebes and several species of herons and hear the songs of great reed-warblers.
