Daruszentmiklós became independent with the election of the local government on 20 October 2002. The village, which was separated from the community of Előszállás, includes three smaller settlements: Kisszentmiklós, Daruhegy and Dánieltelep. The village is 23 kilometres far from Dunaújváros, and it has its own surgery, district nurse, a day-time nursery for 50 children and an 8-class primary school.
