The Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest was founded in 1875 by Franz Liszt, the piano virtuoso, composer, conductor, teacher, author and philanthropist. It is not only home to the Liszt collection of documents and music, but also maintains to this day, an impressive choir and world-class symphonic Orchestra, which often perform concerts here, right next to the square bearing his name.
