The village was founded along the Road from Győr to Veszprém. It was the serf village of Csesznek castle estate from the 17th century. The baroque church buildings are also worth seeing as well as a row of wine cellars, a rare example of German architecture. This is an orderly village, but is suitable for village tourism. Hiker’s path leads to nearby Cuha Gorge, Ördögrét (Devil Meadow), and Remete (Hermit) Cave.
