The village lies beside the Hungarian-Slovakian border. Its first written record dates from 1277. In the XVII. century people of Ruthenian and Slovak ethnicity were settled here. Ferenc Kazinczy spent his childhood and most of his youth here. The Kazinczy Memorial Park got a place in the centre of the settlement. visitors, seeking peace, quite and fresh air, cyclists and hikers all love to come to the village in its almost unspoilt natural setting.
